Abstract:
This study was initially prepared expeditiously in May 2020 to provide a quick initial assessment of the impact
of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on the aviation and tourism sectors of the Central Asia Regional
Economic Cooperation (CAREC) and provide recommendations for the recovery of air travel and tourism.
An initial draft of this study was completed in early June 2020, just 2 months after the aviation and tourism
sectors were grounded to a halt due to the pandemic
